01

Define the working relationship

Describe your employer or clients, their locations and how the relationship operates. The official UGE page sets out requirements and documents for international remote workers. Having an overseas client alone does not establish eligibility; nationality and individual status need separate review.

02

Test a working day at home

Confirm connectivity at the actual address, test mobile reception and find a suitable calling space. Observe light and noise during working hours. If two people work from home, consider simultaneous calls and the ability to close a door, rather than simply fitting two desks.

03

Bring the timetables together

Agree the move with your employer or clients and separately review immigration, tax and social-security obligations with appropriate advisers. Set a date for resolving each question. The lease and furniture purchases should follow that plan, rather than create pressure to arrange the paperwork retrospectively.
