A moving plan without an endless checklist

A useful plan shows how tasks depend on one another, helping you see what genuinely needs to come first.

Before setting the date

Gather the conditions affecting timing: work, school, your current tenancy, housing availability and individual paperwork. Give each task an owner and note what must happen before it can begin.

Before arrival

Arrange the first accommodation, communication and access to important documents. Separate what you need on arrival: prescribed medication, work essentials and children's things. Do not pack all immediate necessities into the main shipment.

After arrival

Do not schedule your whole new life for the first day. Separate urgent tasks, important tasks and decisions that can wait until you know the city. Review the list weekly: experience may change your priorities.
