1. The space you will actually use
Begin with everyday life: where you put things when you arrive, where you will work and how light reaches the bedroom. Check circulation, storage and doors, not just floor area. Bring measurements of furniture you want to keep. A flattering photograph does not show every route through a home.
2. The building and the street
Look at the entrance, stairs and shared spaces. Listen with windows open and closed. Clarify what belongs to the property and what is shared. Walk to a transport stop or shop. If you remain interested, another visit at a different time may tell you more than many extra photographs.
3. What needs a written answer
After the visit, divide notes into what you like, what does not work and what needs checking. Include documents, works, equipment, costs and terms. A spoken answer is not the same as verification: agree who will check each material detail and what evidence they will use before any commitment.
